More on Mega dose Vitamin C:

Firstly, we are so delighted and grateful at the wonderful support this family have seen!
And secondly we wanted to take the opportunity to share more detail on just how supportive a few extra servings of mighty kids vitamin c can be in times of need!

Vitamin C is our biggest defence vitamin, and many Mighty Kids parents have consistently reported the noticeable support of a few extra servings for short periods when required.

“A study took subjects reporting flu symptoms and treated them with hourly doses of 1000 mg of Vitamin C for the first 6 hours, and then 3 times daily thereafter. Results reported flu and cold symptoms in the test group decreased 85% compared with the control group after the administration of megadose Vitamin C.”

As the Mighty Kids Vitamin C has the benefit of the superior absorption - the same results would be achieved with smaller doses.
Starter suggestion for high dose vitamin c when poorly:
We suggest 4 x doses over a 24 hour period, with each dose spaced at least 1 hour apart, for up to 3 consecutive days.
Just use the dose listed on the bottle by age.

“Is high dose vitamin C safe?”

We have covered all questions in an extensive blog post which can be found on the Mighty Kids website.
The linked study is also helpful as a safety reference.

The study aimed to review potential harm associated with high-dose vitamin C treatment in neonatal and pediatric patients who received IV or intra-arterial high-dose vitamin C, these double-blind randomized controlled trials concluded no reported harmful effects.
Whilst we are here to share studies, information, and ideas, we cannot give any medical advice or set protocols on a particular situation.

Please take the suggestion for a higher dose protocol as inspiration for you to conclude at your own discretion if you feel this would be suitable your family, or discuss with your health care team.
