We have never had an employee who hasn’t liked working at our company. The culture is based on trust and commitment rather than micromanaging and deadlines, and because it’s so selective it’s also well paid (we have been searching intensively for the past 6 months for the right people for these roles).
If you are still studying, you could begin with doing whatever you could fit in at £18/hour (we have one writer who is currently doing 5 hours/week until she graduates this summer), but this figure would be expected to increase quite quickly as you demonstrate your ability. In the longer term, the goal would be for you to produce writing that has noticeable commercial impact leading to significant salary increases.

If you’d be interested in applying for the role, there are 3 stages:
i) A 60 minute cognitive assessment consisting of communication related challenges
ii) A short interview
iii) A 90 minute writing assessment involving interpreting and translating raw scientific information into a more widely accessible form.
I think that based on the articles I’ve seen it’s likely that you’d succeed in the process, but we would still prefer that you complete the assessments to show commitment and for future reference.
Lastly, please don’t be too judgemental of my LinkedIn profile! A few people who have joined our team said that they thought that something didn’t add up about the opportunity I was presenting to them given that I only had a single digit number of connections. I only began using LinkedIn last year specifically for recruitment, and unfortunately at the moment I don’t have the time to do anything about this!
