More on Mega dose Vitamin C:

Firstly, we are so delighted and grateful at the wonderful support this family have seen!
And secondly we wanted to take the opportunity to share more detail on just how supportive a few extra servings of mighty kids vitamin c can be in times of need!

Vitamin C is our biggest defence vitamin, and many Mighty Kids parents have consistently reported the noticeable support of a few extra servings for short periods when required.

“A study took subjects reporting flu symptoms and treated them with hourly doses of 1000 mg of Vitamin C for the first 6 hours, and then 3 times daily thereafter. Results reported flu and cold symptoms in the test group decreased 85% compared with the control group after the administration of megadose Vitamin C.”

As the Mighty Kids Vitamin C has the benefit of the superior absorption - the same results would be achieved with smaller doses.
Starter suggestion for high dose vitamin c when poorly:
We suggest 4 x doses over a 24 hour period, with each dose spaced at least 1 hour apart, for up to 3 consecutive days.
Just use the dose listed on the bottle by age.

“Is high dose vitamin C safe?”

The linked study is also helpful as a safety reference.

The study aimed to review potential harm associated with high-dose vitamin C treatment in neonatal and pediatric patients who received IV or intra-arterial high-dose vitamin C, these double-blind randomized controlled trials concluded no reported harmful effects.
Whilst we are here to share studies, information, and ideas, we cannot give any medical advice or set protocols on a particular situation.

Please take the suggestion for a higher dose protocol as inspiration for you to conclude at your own discretion if you feel this would be suitable your family, or discuss with your health care team.

When everyone’s hungry now or moods are dipping, I grab a few of these and know they’re getting real nourishment - not just a quick sugar hit.

Healthy fats and protein make such a difference for kids.

They help keep blood sugar steady, support focus and moods, and build the brain and nervous system, all while keeping those little tummies satisfied for longer.

Almond butter → full of healthy fats and plant protein to steady energy, nourish the brain.

Grass fed Butter→ provides saturated fats that help build cell membranes, hormones, and the protective coating around nerves (so important for growing brains). It’s also rich in vitamins A, D, E & K to support immunity and growth.

Coconut sugar → still sweet, but with minerals like zinc and iron and a lower glycaemic load, helping to avoid the sharp spikes and crashes that can lead to meltdowns.

Cocoa → a source of gentle plant compounds that boost blood flow to the brain, plus magnesium and antioxidants to lift mood and support focus.

Vanilla → not just flavour; vanilla contains natural antioxidants and compounds that support relaxation and calm the nervous system

Recipe-
340g almond butter
1/2 cup grass fed butter melted
1/2 cup coconut sugar
1/4 cup cocoa powder
1 tsp vanilla extract

We mix it all together, pop it in the freezer in moulds, (then store in the freezer as would go soft at a higher temperature)

It’s becomes our go-to snack for those “I need something now” moments. Simple, nourishing, and genuinely delicious.
